Information for galleries
Gallery Week Finland aims to increase the visibility and visitor numbers of galleries across the country and strengthen the gallery network.
Gallery Week Finland is an annual event open to all, which will take place for the first time from 26 to 31 August 2025. The event will be spread across Finland according to the locations of the participating galleries.
Any gallery or equivalent exhibition space in Finland with regularly changing exhibitions and regular opening hours can participate in Gallery Week.
Participation costs the gallery either €80 or €150 per year. The lower price applies to galleries with an annual expenditure total of less than €100,000. These prices are valid from 2025 to 2027.
What is required of the gallery to participate
Registration for galleries was open from 15 May to 5 June 2025.
Galleries can participate in the event with their existing exhibition programme. They do not necessarily need to organise a separate programme for Gallery Week.
However, we encourage galleries to consider holding an additional event during Gallery Week to attract more visitors. This could be a discussion, performance, screening, concert, guided tour or workshop, for example. Exhibition openings are also an important part of the programme and can be registered on the form.
Participating galleries are invited to submit materials for the exhibition and other events taking place during Gallery Week by the end of June. Some materials may still be added in early August. The method of sending these materials will be specified later.
In addition to submitting the requested materials by the deadlines, participating galleries are required to share marketing materials related to Gallery Week on their social media channels, and to display printed materials related to the event in their gallery during the event (e.g. a sign and a small window sticker).
Feedback and suggestions from participating galleries will be collected regularly to help us continuously improve the event for both the public and the galleries.
The aim of Gallery Week Finland is to increase the visibility and visitor numbers of galleries across the country
Gallery Week Finland encourages more people to visit exhibitions and other events organised by galleries. It acts as a gateway to galleries, with the aim of increasing their visitor numbers nationwide and all year round.
From autumn 2025 onwards, Gallery Week will organise seminars and workshops for its network of galleries, with the aim of supporting the development of the sector and encouraging collaboration. The participation fee will allow the entire gallery staff to attend these educational activities.
Gallery Week Finland is organised by the Artists’ Association MUU, the Association of Finnish Sculptors, the Association of Finnish Printmakers, the Finnish Painters’ Union and the Association of Photographic Artists.
The project is launched with support from the Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
