Saara Lintunen: Botanical Remnants and Elsewhere
Saara Lintunen’s exhibition presents works inspired by her roots, the landscapes of Northern Finland. The external view and inner experience meet. Flowers, plants, birds, clothes, and curtains are at the centre of her work. The works preserve the inner landscape –cultural memory and heritage in the form of a picture. Nature takes up space, and a human is absent from the landscape. Clothing, buildings, and textiles symbolise humans and the human footprint. The clothes carry memories with them and take shape of the human body.
For Saara, drawing is a calming process through which she immerses herself in the landscape and its details. Pencil strokes are the essential part of her expression.
