Gallery Aski
Gallery Aski is an independent, artist-run space established by the association Rettigin kuvataiteilijat, located in the heart of the uniquely vibrant artistic and cultural hub that is Art House Turku. Rettigin kuvataiteilijat collective comprises 24 artists who work within the building’s walls.
The name Aski pays homage to the building’s past as a tobacco factory while also hinting at the gallery’s intimate, compact scale.
Aski presents a dynamic programme of exhibitions featuring both local and international artists. Its guiding principles include responsiveness to contemporary currents and cultural shifts, a spirit of international collaboration, and a commitment to exchange and dialogue across borders.
Occasionally, the space hosts exhibitions by member artists, offering glimpses into both finished works and the processes that shape them. Alongside curated shows, Aski also serves as a platform for experimental works-in-progress, encouraging artistic risk and exploration. The gallery fosters immediate, unfiltered encounters between artist and audience — moments of connection, reflection, and shared experience.
