Lisbon Sebtember
A year ago I took a long-awaited art trip to Lisbon and Sintra. On the trip, we were guided by symbol researcher Liisa Väisänen and artist Tero Annanolli. On the way, we got to know many symbols and made sketches. The peacock is the central figure in this exhibition. The peacock that appears in two of my paintings walked around me while I was sketching at Jorgen Fortress. The self-aware peacock can very well express the mood of the moment as well as a general symbol, courage or resurrection. The peacock has traditionally been seen as a real Phoenix bird with its beautiful regrowing tail feathers. My other two peacocks tell of longing, sadness and old pains that can be left behind. The colors of Lisbon stuck to the colorful background of my mind.
