Eeva-Liisa Puhakka, Raana Lehtinen: Wild Blue (Sali 1) and Eternity in the Garden (Hall 2)

Eeva-Liisa Puhakka's Wild Blue exhibition features a video, a video installation, and sculptures made from recycled leather.

"About fifteen years ago, I heard about the blue primeval cows that inhabit the forests of Latvia. According to an ancient legend, these cows once dwelled in the sea and would come ashore briefly before sunrise to graze. The Mother of the Sea (Juras Mate) gifted some of these cows to the families of Livonian fishermen who had perished in storms. This story serves as the foundation of the exhibition."

 

In Raana Lehtinen's exhibition Eternity in the Garden, the artist's memories of her youth intertwine with recent observations of her surroundings. Through her oil and watercolor paintings, everyday local nature transforms into a stage for something miraculous. Tulips bloom fleetingly from spring to spring, years pass vaguely in diary entries, and morning gradually dawns in a meadow of lilies. Reality is reinterpreted through painting, now shimmering with light.

Raana Lehtinen (born 1990) is a visual artist from Helsinki. She graduated from the Free School of Art in 2019 and from the Academy of Fine Arts with a Master of Fine Arts in 2024. Her most recent solo exhibitions include Galerie Forsblom in Helsinki in 2025 and the Salmela Art Center in Mäntyharju in 2026. Additionally, Lehtinen has participated in several group exhibitions, such as Vastamaalattua at the Sara Hilden Art Museum in Tampere in 2026 and Portrait Now! in Hillerød, Denmark, in 2021. Besides private collections, her works are part of the collections at the National Gallery and Tampere Art Museum.

The exhibition is supported by the Arts Promotion Centre of Finland, the Vermeeriana Foundation, and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
