Launch Party for the Renovated Taide Magazine
Taide magazine has been renewed!
Joel Karppanen has taken over as editor-in-chief, and graphic designers Tino Nyman and Marina Veziko are responsible for the new visual identity and layout.
The roster of writers has also changed. Over 120 people from all across Finland applied to Taide magazine's Writers' School held this summer. The majority of them are contributing to the magazine for the first time. The youngest were born in the 2000s. Writers featured in the September issue include Carmen Baltzar, Iida Sofia Hirvonen, Eero Karjalainen, Aatos Ketvel, and Helen Korpak.
As a special highlight of the opening event, ELK LAB's ensemble (Joona Mäkelä, Natalia Koziel-Kalliomäki, Lasse Vairio, Joakim Pusenius, and Sanna Liljander) will present their new film performance, "The Third Act". This is a live performance built around three 16mm projectors and a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Duration: 17 minutes. The performance begins at 19:30.
Come celebrate the new chapter of this contemporary art magazine, which has been published since 1960, and raise a glass to better art journalism!
